Before I started writing The Fool & the Threads of Time, I already knew one thing about my main character, Ev. When life gets overwhelming, she bakes.
And let’s just say…life gives her plenty of opportunities to dust off the old rolling pin.
📚 Ev runs a quirky bookstore eternally on the brink of ruin in the coastal town of Quayside. And while she may be cursed with financial stress, heartbreak, and more supernatural complications than most, there’s one thing her store isn’t lacking: snacks.
It has the best-stocked snack cart in all of Quayside, to be exact.
Naturally, when it came time to release The Fool & the Threads of Time into the wild, I couldn’t resist combining two of my favorite things: crafting tiny, realistic food and bringing Ev’s world to life.
👀 So, here’s a peek at the miniature snacks I hand-sculpted, inspired by the desserts from the book.
First up? The snack cart loaded with treats + books!

And when it’s time to curl up with a good book, what better spot than this cushy cat-eared chair??

The last set is a woodland baking table, inspired by an art event Ev hosts at her bookshop. All the artists created pieces themed to a favorite childhood book, while Ev made coordinating desserts!

And you know I had to make tiny editions of my book!

So, there you have it—dispatches from my (not so) secret life as a miniaturist.
P.S. I’m already squeeing over the tiny foods I have planned for the next book, The Magician & the Labyrinth of Yesterdays! 🥰
